We are looking for a BI Developer in Northampton or Annesley.

The position holder will play a key role in our digital transformation by supporting the business to utilise data efficiently and effectively. The BI Developer will take a lead role in developing our BI stack whilst eliciting stakeholder requirements and designing and building Power BI reports as well as dashboards.

Initially the role will be focused on data & analytics projects for corporate functions, such as Finance and HR, whilst providing guidance and support to other areas of the business.

The role will offer a salary of £45-55K (subject to experience), bonus, family health cover and the opportunity to work remotely up to 4 days per week (subject to business requirements).

Key requirements:
1. Data & Analysis
• Analyse business requirements and deliver accurate and effective reporting and insights to drive business decisions.
• Support stakeholders to identify reporting needs and requirements. Review ongoing data requests, assess priorities and communicate status with all stakeholders.
• Plan and execute activities such as data cleansing, data migration, ETL, data modelling & mapping.

2. Training & Support
• Provide appropriate training and materials for delivered solutions.
• Identify data integrity issues and assist to design solution fixes.
• Implement best practice standards – define data governance and data security standards, policies, and processes.
• Ensure issues are investigated and resolved to all stakeholders’ satisfaction.

3. Project Management
• Effectively manage the delivery of data and analytics projects, ensure project management methodologies (waterfall and agile delivery) are adhered to.
• Effectively communicate with stakeholders, meet on regular basis to provide project updates.
• Work with BI and internal teams (including IT and Change) to provide a streamlined delivery process, looking to improve and create efficiencies where appropriate.

4. Team Management
• Liaise with the BI team on a regular basis to enhance and share knowledge, assist in team projects where required.
• Manage and coach direct reports, providing leadership and encouragement.
• Manage and monitor levels of performance through delegation and objective setting with involvement of individual.
• Identify any developmental requirements.

5. Relationships & Teamwork
• Engage with key stakeholders to maintain and develop existing relationships to provide a platform for further organic growth.
• Work with internal and external customers to identify and define key projects, requirements and delivery objectives.

Key requirements:
• Power BI qualification essential – is it essential or good to have?
• Experience in relevant business intelligence or data analyst role, as a BI Developer with a strong focus on analytics, experience of data warehousing, data cleansing, data migration, ETL, data modelling & mapping.
• Experience of working with various data sources, BI and integration tools. Alteryx experience desirable.
• Extensive experience in the following:
   o Power BI
   o Paginated Reports (SSRS)
   o MS SQL Server
   o Data warehousing
   o ETL processes
• Management / supervisory experience desirable.
• Enthusiastic and self-aware, adapting style to the situation with excellent inter-personal skills – able to build a rapport at any level.
• Confidently makes informed decisions and keeps relevant people updated.
• Analytical, always looking for ways around the problem.
• Able to learn new systems quickly.
• At ease working under pressure to tight deadlines
• Good at getting into the detail and confident in presenting information to a varied audience.
• Driving licence (occasional travel to Yusen sites will be required)
